We believe passionately in our small, close-knit and highly skilled teams.
These well-balanced teams are consistently delivering great service and excellent outcomes for the children in our care, as borne out by numerous 5-star parent testimonials and Ofsted inspections.
New staff are carefully selected by other members of the team to ensure they share our caring, nurturing values and the high professional standards that we seek.
We’re great advocates of training and continuing professional development. All employees are therefore encouraged to seek higher Level 3, Level 4 and Level 6 qualifications or train in more specialist areas.
We will always recruit Level 6 Nursery Managers wherever possible or support our managers through a study programme to reach their maximum potential. Our founder, Kate Childs, is a Level 6 Early Years Teacher and provides ongoing support to our increasing number of Nursery School settings.
Hello and a very warm welcome from Apple Tree Nursery Schools. My name is Kate Childs, I established Apple Tree Nursery Schools in 2007 initially working alone as a childminder. I’ve obtained a Level 6 qualification in childcare (Early Years Teacher status) and have subsequently used this to improve the quality of teaching standards across our settings.
I passionately believe ‘Small is Beautiful’, that nursery school classes should be limited to just 20-30 spaces. This provides the best outcomes for the babies and children in our care, allowing them to retain their individuality as they grow. Nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing our children growing up happy, confident and fulfilled.

Hi, I’m Chloe, and I have 3 children of my own. I homeschooled my eldest for a few years with a child centred approach, while backpacking. Creating the environment for her to be independent and initiating her own learning was wonderful. I worked in Child Psychology before making the switch to Montessori childcare, and I will be starting Montessori training soon.
My name is Kelly and I offer dinner time support to the children. Having sent my own three children through the Montessori Nursery system I fully support and encourage the beautiful balance of independence, nurture and growth that the setting offers.
